Humanities

I think that we deserve a B on the humanities part. Some of the reason why are 1. We made huts that are from Africa, and on time. Another reason, is that we put soil down underneath it, but it was darker than the soil in Africa, because the soil in Africa is much lighter. We also put a backround of the huts, and a map of Africa behind our tank. I think that I did 40% of the work on this, because we made the clay here, but she brought them home, and finished the roof, so she gets more credit than I do for that.

Life Science

I think that we deserve an A for the science part of this project. One reason is that we have our organism, and we have a swampy enviroment in our terrarium. Another reason is that we have a light in our terrarium, and it is the right type of light. The third reason is that we use non mineral water and soil, so that out organism does not die. We also keep our terrarium moist, so that it is very humid inside. I think I did 50% of the work, because we both helped eachother.

May 22

Today I finished my poster for the extra assignment. I did it on the carnivorous plants, and how biodiversity affects humans. My partner and I also painted our wooden board that goes in between the water, and the dry part.

May 21

Today I worked on my computer generated poster, and I have basically finished it and I just have to do some finishing touches so that it can look good. I plan on doing some of the finishing touches today and some tommorow.

May 18

Today, we got graded on our interpretive panels, and we also started building our models for our terrariums. We are going to be making huts for our terrarium. We are going to put a board in between the water and the dry side, so no water goes on the dry side.

How my Plant Eats

My plant eats fruit flies, because it needs nutrients from the bugs, because the soil that they grow in has very low minerals and nutrition. The reason that the plants grow there is because there are not plants there to get in the way of the sunlight, because if they were to grow anywhere else, they wouldn't get any sunlight. The way that I feed my plant is by putting the fruit fly in or near the pot, then the fly is attracted to the sweet scent of the plant. After that the plant gets stuck to the plant, and over time the plant sucks the nutrients out of the bug.

May 9

Today, Carli and I presented our lesson plan to the whole class. It went pretty well. We did our presentation on how Africa connects to our world. A lot of it was by religion, and architecture, such as gods and pyramids. They also made the first paper. We did an activity that was, Are You Smarter Than Mr. Davis. It went pretty smoothly. Today, we also went to the Zoo, and saw lots of very cool animals, such as Monkeys and elephants. We also saw some carnivorous plants there. Today was a lot of fun!

May 8

Today, we watched presentations about different regions of the world. I did not present today, because I am in the plant group, and we are going tomorrow or Thursday. I learned a lot about different places, and all the religion and the architecture, geography, and many more things.

May 3

Today my partner and I worked on our crossword puzzle that we are making for our lesson plan. We are almost done with it, and we are probably going to finish it on Friday. That is all we basically did today, and I think that we could have gotten a little bit more work done today, if we had been focused the entire time.

May 2

Today I finished the power point on connection to our world. We also started on our crossword puzzle that we are making for our activity in the lesson plan. I think that we got a lot of work done today, and tomorrow we will just need to finish our activity, then we will be done with our lesson plan.

May 1

Today I added some things about architecture and language on my power point, and my partner and I came up with an idea to make a crossword puzzle for our activity. Once they find the words, they would match them with the right definitions, and the first person to do it gets candy. I also worked on my blog today, and changed the template and some other things.

April 27

We started on our PowerPoint, and we gathered more information on Connection to our World. We learned about there beliefs on the elephants, earth, and destiny. We didn't get that far on our power point, since we were mainly looking up facts on African beliefs.

Today I worked on my Lesson plan for humanities. I started my power point on it, and it is on Connection to our World. So far it has gone good. I have found some interesting facts on there theory of the afterlife so far. We are almost done with our power point, and tomorrow we hope to finish it, or come close.

April 26

Yesterday, my group and I did a play on our carnivorous plants. I was a fly, a herbivore, and a human. We taught the class about carnivorous plants, and how they live. It was supposed to be like the crocodile hunter show. We also worked on our Lesson Plans for humanities. We are doing it on how our civilization connects to the world, so we have to find how it influences us, and what are some beliefs, architecture, phrases and practices of the civilization.

Today I typed up the field notes about reproduction on plants and how a plant makes a living. Some things are that they produce sexually and asexually. Also plants make livings by doing a lot of different things, but they eat bugs to live.
